
They have done it again! For the sixth year in a row, Deerfield, Wisconsin-based Ephraim Faience Pottery (EFP) has created an original, limited edition vase to benefit CERF. EFP and their company store, Dovetail Antiques, plans to donate to CERF a portion of the proceeds of the sale of the Shamrock Vase for CERF. All six CERF vases have been developed around the theme of traditional meanings of flowers that relate to CERF’s mission. The shamrock of course symbolizes good luck!
The third annual Craftsman House Pot Roast took place in September. Local potters donated unfinished glazed bowls to fill a kiln then after the firing, the bowls were displayed and raffled. The purchase of a bowl came with a free serving of pot roast or vegetable stew. This year the event raised nearly $1200
WICKWIRE fine art/folk art and Grovewood Gallery collaborated on their plans for A Month for CERF this year. Both galleries each held two raffle drawings for chances to win handmade crafts by regional artists and other prizes including $100 gift certificates. The four artists who donated work included: Judith Brater-Rose, Herman Leonhardt, Greg Magruder and Elliott Metal Works.
Located in St. Charles, Illinois, Ginger’s, which sells glass art and glass giftware, is donating a portion of all September sales to CERF. Ginger’s recently moved and is holding a ribbon-cutting and grand reopening celebration September 28-29.
One percent of sales during the month of September will be donated to CERF by San Francisco-based Facere Jewelry Art Gallery.
A participant of A Month for CERF since 1997, Whippoorwill Crafts located in downtown Boston, had a very successful seconds sale with all proceeds directed to benefit CERF.
In Whitefish, Montana, customers at the Purple Pomegranate participate in a Skittles for CERF tournament, paying $1 per pull. They play for the prize of a $150 gift certificate at the store. All proceeds are donated to CERF.
A blown glass plate by David Garcia was a much sought after item of Sherwood Gallery’s silent auction for CERF. A total of $450 was raised and Donna Gouley, President of Sherwood Gallery, commented "It was a pleasure to participate and contribute to CERF in its dedication to helping craft artists in need."
In July 2007 the Penland Gallery raised $620 for CERF by organizing another successful ‘Re-gifting for CERF’ sale .
