Thank you for participating in the Studio Protector artist field test! We appreciate the time you have taken to study and evaluate the prototype versions of the wall chart and the web site. Your answers to survey questions and your comments will be taken under consideration in editing the Studio Protector wall chart and in developing the online digest before they are released in spring 2009.
The Studio Protector is being developed for all artists whose practice revolves around a studio or workspace. The Studio Protector is a project of the CERF+ (CERF+), produced in cooperation with the Coalition for Artists’ Preparedness and Emergency Response, and with the assistance of Heritage Preservation, Inc. The Studio Protector is being made possible by major funding from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, and with additional funding from Joan Mitchell Foundation, The National Endowment for the Arts, and Windgate Charitable Foundation.
The mission of CERF+ is to strengthen and sustain the careers of craft artists across the United States. CERF+ is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization and is the only one of its kind in the United States. CERF+ accomplishes its mission through direct financial and educational assistance to craft artists, including emergency relief assistance, business development support, and resources and referrals on topics such as health, safety, and insurance. CERF+ also advocates, engages in research, and backs policy that supports craft artists’ careers.
While CERF+’s financial assistance is currently available only to craft artists, CERF+ is committed to providing information on emergency preparedness and recovery for all artists. CERF+’s web site www.craftemergency.org contains much useful information on preparing for and surviving a career-threatening emergency. Please feel free to visit our site.
